Carlton Bragg said he wanted a scholarship offer from Kentucky, and now he has one.
“I talked to assistant coach Orlando Antigua and Carlton does have an offer from the University of Kentucky,” Bragg’s mentor Michael Graves told SNY.tv.
Kentucky’s John Calipari watched Saturday as Bragg went for 24 points, nine rebounds and three assists as his Villa Angela St. Joseph (Ohio) team lost to Kentucky-bound Trey Lyles and Indianapolis (IN) Arsenal Tech, 80-76.

MONTVERDE, Fla. — Kevin Boyle has coached several future one-and-dones in Kyrie Irving and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist.
For a period it seemed that Kentucky’s Dakari Johnson might be the latest former Boyle product to follow suit.
But after initially being projected to go in the 2014 NBA Draft, Johnson was recently moved into 2015 by DraftExpress.com, as were his Kentucky teammates Andrew and Aaron Harrison.
The 6-foot-11 Johnson is projected as the No. 19 pick in 2015.

PADUCAH, Ky. – Carlton Bragg doesn’t hold a Kentucky offer but there’s one future Wildcat he would love to play with.
“Yes, I would love to play with Trey Lyles,” Bragg said Saturday at Mustang Madness.
Bragg made the comment after going for 24 points, nine rebounds and three assists as his Villa Angela St. Joseph (Ohio) team lost to Lyles and Indianapolis (IN) Arsenal Tech, 80-76. Lyles went for 29 points and 15 board with his future coach, Kentucky’s John Calipari, watching.
“[Calipari] told me that Carlton played very well, he had a great game,” Michael Graves,” Bragg’s mentor, told SNY.tv. “He didn’t settle for 3-point shots. He had a nice all-around game.”
The 6-foot-8 2015 forward admitted to being nervous when Calipari recently watched him play against Las Vegas Bishop Gorman and Stephen Zimmerman and Chase Jeter, but on Saturday he said he didn’t pay attention to the Kentucky coach.

MONTVERDE, Fla.- The top-ranked team in the nation, Montverde Academy, dominated Oak Ridge (Fla.), 93-57, behind Ben Simmons’ 20 points and 10 rebounds, in front of a sold out crowd that included Chicago Bears running back Michael Bush in Montverde’s first ESPN televised game in their new gym.
Montverde’s Head Coach Kevin Boyle was very happy with his team’s performance.
“I thought we played outstanding,” Boyle told SNY.tv after the game. “We started out a bit slow in the first couple minutes, feeling the hype of the game. I thought our press was fantastic. If you don’t have three really good ball handlers its tough to play against us, because we have great length and quickness, as well as bigs that can guard the smaller guards. Eventually if you don’t have enough ball handlers, we can get you for a 12 to 14 point burst and blow the game open.”
That’s exactly what happened, too.
NEW YORK –– The sobering fact for the St. John’s basketball team and its fans is this.
No Big East team has started 0-3 in league play and gone on to make the NCAA Tournament since Seton Hall during the 1993-94 season.
That was 20 years ago.
So after the Johnnies dropped to 0-3 in the Big East following their 74-67 loss to No. 8 Villanova at Madison Square Garden, it seems fair to wonder if this team has any legitimate shot of regrouping to make the Big Dance in a year they were widely expected to do so.

“Probably Seton Hall, UConn, Louisville and Miami, that’s pretty much it,” the 6-foot-10, 260-pound 2015 big man from Wings Academy told SNY.tv at Madison Square Garden where he watched No. 8 Villanova beat St. John’s, 74-67.
Ranked No. 48 in the Class of 2015 by Rivals, Govan recently attended the Creighton-Seton Hall game and he has a built-in tie to the Pirates because his AAU teammates, Khadeen Carrington and Angel Delgado of the New York Lightning, have both signed with Seton Hall.
