    Dewan Huell lives in a state that has cranked out many good big men, and he is showing that he’s got next.

    The 6-foot-10 sophomore out of Miami Norland (Fla.) has turned heads at some of the biggest schools in the nation, receiving offers from Louisville, Florida, Florida State, South Carolina, Alabama, Miami, Ole’ Miss and Kansas.

    “I would be honored to go to any one of those schools,” Huell told SNY.tv. “It would be a blessing to play for any one of those schools.”

    UNION, N.J. – St. Benedict’s Prep coach Mark Taylor always knew Tyler Ennis would thrive at Syracuse.

    But after seeing his former point guard take the country by storm as a freshman, Taylor now wonders how long Ennis will stay with the second-ranked Orange before making a leap to the NBA.

    “We always talked about it, and we always said two years. We thought he’d stay for two, but it’s too big a contract; he’s a lottery pick,” he told SNY.tv. “I would tell him to go, but that’s his choice.”

    WHEELING, W.V. —  Stephen Zimmerman plans on cutting his list sometime in the near future.

    “I’m going to have to get a list soon,” the 7-foot 2015 big man from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman said in response to cutting his list down to five.  “I don’t know when, but probably soon. There are probably about 10 schools in the mix. I probably can’t name them all off the top of my head, so I don’t want to make it look like I have any favorites right now.”

    Saturday was a big day for Georgetown and its future players.

    Not only did the Hoyas beat St. John’s, 77-60, in Big East play, but Georgetown pledge Paul White went off for 29 points while Duke signee Jahlil Okafor had 24 points and nine rebounds as Whitney Young (IL) beat Prime Prep (TX), 72-69, at the Cancer Research Classic in Wheeling, W.V.

    White and Okafor were named co-MVPs of the game after combining for 53 points.

    Okafor, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2015, was named the tournament MVP.

    John Calipari and Orlando Antigua were in to watch one of the top players in the class of 2016 on Saturday, when Jayson Tatum and Chaminade (MO) took on Lexington Catholic (KY).

    Tatum also took an unofficial visit to Kentucky earlier in the day, which was reported by Fox Sports’ Evan Daniels.

    “It was a great experience to play in front of Coach Cal,” Tatum told SNY.tv on Saturday night. “I was really happy to see that he took some time to come and watch us play.”

    Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski benched Jabari Parker, arguably the nation’s most potent offensive threat, for the final 3 minutes, 35 seconds of the Blue Devils 79-77 loss at Notre Dame Saturday.

    “He just wasn’t having a good game,” Krzyzewski said.

    Projected as potentially the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, Parker failed to score in double figures for the first time this season while playing about 90 miles from his home in Chicago.

    He missed his first four shots, including a 12-foot baseline air ball, and had a jumper blocked by Austin Burgett (see video).

    A year ago, Georgetown began the Big East schedule with two straight losses before getting untracked with a 67-51 win over St. John’s at Madison Square Garden.

    The Hoyas rebounded from their 0-2 start to finish 14-4 in the Big East and in a first-place tie atop the league standings.

    With his team now 0-2, Johnnies coach Steve Lavin is clearly hoping for history to repeat itself.
