Bradley “B.J.” Hayes met with Georgetown coach John Thompson III on Wednesday as part of his recruiting process and is considering the Hoyas along with UConn, Florida and Texas A&M.

“John Thompson made a really strong case for why Georgetown is the best place for BJ Hayes,” a source with knowledge of the meeting told SNY.tv. “JT3 didn’t try to sell him but rather explained why Georgetown is different and how they develop boys in to men both on and off the  court. Roy Hibbert is a great example even though BJ is more Zo [Alonzo Mourning] then Roy.

Anthony Bennett has crossed Washington off his list and is now down to four schools.

“He’s definitely taken Washington off the list,” Mike George of CIA Bounce told SNY.tv Thursday morning. “He’s down to four.”

The remaining four schools in the mix for the 6-foot-7 Findlay Prep forward are Florida, Kentucky, Oregon and UNLV.

“He’ll take another [school] off by next week,” George said. “He’s only gonna visit three schools.”

NEWARK — The  Knicks are in a fight to qualify for the playoffs for a second straight season and going on the road on Wednesday evening wasn’t going to make the plight any easier, right?

Sure, the schedule said they were in Newark to take on the Nets for the final time in the Garden State before the Nets move to Brooklyn, but what ensued on Mulberry Street during a 104-95 Knicks win certainly didn’t make it seem like the winning team was the road team.

NEWARK – In this truncated, 66-game odyssey better known as the NBA regular season, the point guard position has been full of question marks all season for the New York Knicks.

Toney Douglas was the opening-day starter on Christmas Day against the Boston Celtics as the Knicks got out of the gate sluggishly over the first month.

Linsanity began when Jeremy Lin rose to prominence on Feb. 4 until he was done for the season on March 24 with a torn left meniscus.

DePaul has landed a walk-on in the Class of 2012 by the name of Cory Dolins.

Ordinarily, the words “DePaul” and “walk-on” might not constitute major news but what if I told you that the 6-foot Dolins is best friends with 2013 wing Jabari Parker, arguably the top player in that class and a future pro?

“I haven’t really talked to him about colleges too much but I know DePaul’s on his list and I’m his best friend, so it might help a little bit,” Dolins told SNY.tv by phone.

Allerik Freeman had cut his list to Villanova and Kansas, but when Duke, Ohio State and UCLA came calling it was time to expand the list.

As first reported by Alex Kline, those three schools are now expressing interest in the 6-foot-3, 195-pound 2013 combo guard from Charlotte (N.C.) Olympic.

“Like most kids he had a change of heart and added UCLA and Ohio State,” Olympic coach Ty Baumgardner told SNY.tv by phone.
