Lindell Wigginton is one of the top point guards in the Class of 2017. The 6-foot-2 Wigginton will be contributing periodically to ZAGSBLOG going forward. Here is his second Player Blog.
What’s good, everybody? It’s your boy LW back doing my second player blog with ZAGSBLOG.
Coming off a 17-day break before the Dick’s National Tournament we started off a bit sluggish in the first half of our first game against Wasatch Academy (UT). We picked it up in the second half by stepping up our defense as a team and sprinted to a win. The second game we played a tough Miller Grove team that played hard. We had to grind it out and ended up winning by 1 off of Braxton Key’s blocked shot. Going into the championship game against La Lumiere (IN), we were up 18 and then came out in the second half thinking we had already won the championship. We were wrong, they came back on us, and we went into overtime and won at the last second tip-in. I made the all-tournament team averaging 15 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists per game in the tournament. We all were glad to get Coach Steve Smith his first Dick’s tournament win.
Since returning from the Dick’s tournament we have been waking up at 6:30am to do weight lifting. After school we do individual workouts and play pickup. Academically I am finishing strong with great grades and counting down to summer.
Once school is out I will continue to play on the Adidas Uprising circuit with my Stackhouse Elite Squad. I’m looking forward to going back home the end of May to see my family and friends and bond with them before having a super busy summer, which is my most important summer playing AAU and hopefully playing with the Canadian National Team.
Right now I have offers from Oregon, Arizona State, Arizona, Louisville, Florida State, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and my most recent offers come from Iowa State and Arkansas. Other schools that have reached out are Texas, Indiana, Ohio State and N.C. State. I’m wide open in my recruiting right now and don’t plan on cutting my list down until after this summer.
