  • Kentucky’s Isaiah Briscoe Has NBA Workouts

Kentucky freshman guard Isaiah Briscoe is listed as an alternate for next week’s NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, but that hasn’t stopped him from getting in a few NBA workouts.

The 6-foot-3 former Roselle (N.J.) Catholic star worked out for the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday and will work out Saturday for the Los Angeles Clippers, his father confirmed to SNY.tv. San Diego State big man Malik Pope also works out for the Clippers on Saturday, he told SNY.tv. Briscoe will also work out for the Lakers on May 16 after the NBA Combine May 11-15.

He has not hired an agent — “No way,” his father said — and can return to campus if he pulls out of the NBA Draft by May 25. George Briscoe said his son had seven more workouts planned, but no dates set yet.

Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress.com first Tweeted Briscoe’s workouts.

Briscoe, who led Roselle Catholic to the New Jersey Tournament of Champions title in 2015, averaged 9.6 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists this past season at Kentucky.

Meantime, Kentucky junior Marcus Lee was also an alternate for the Combine, but his Tweet on Wednesday indicated he may have gotten a full invitation along with Kentucky teammates Jamal Murray, Skal Labissiere and Tyler Ulis.

An NBA spokesman said the official Combine list has yet to be released.
