    Gabe Levin visited Marquette, Northwestern and Notre Dame in the past two weeks, leading up to his highly anticipated decision.

    The Loyola-Marymount transfer told SNY.tv his college choice will come soon, with each of the three schools “tied” before his evaluation.

    “They’re equally great,” Levin said. “The saddest thing is that you make all these great relationships and you have to pick one school. The other relationships are gone.”

    Arizona, Articles, Roselle Catholic

    Roselle (N.J.) Catholic guard Isaiah Briscoe made the USA U18 team and will compete in the FIBA Americas U18 Championship beginning Friday in Colorado Springs, Colo.

    “We couldn’t be happier for Isaiah that he made the U18 National Team and has the opportunity to represent his country,” RC coach Dave Boff told SNY.tv. “I know how hard he worked to achieve this goal. It’s a great honor for him and also for Roselle Catholic to have one of our players playing for USA Basketball.”

    “It feels good just knowing that all the hard work I put in is showing,” the 6-foot-3 Briscoe told SNY.tv by text after the first cuts were made. “It’s still one more cut to be made of three but I’m just still trying to play my game and hope to represent my country.”

    USA Basketball, USA U18 Team

    ZimmermanStephen Zimmerman received more than 30 text messages from college coaches after making the USA U18 team, but he said the funniest came from Louisville assistant Wyking Jones.

    “Coach Jones from Louisville said if I keep this up then maybe my girlfriend will actually start liking me,'” the 6-foot-11 Zimmerman out of Las Vegas Bishop Gorman said by phone from Colorado Springs, Colo.

    If Zimmerman can help Team USA win the gold medal at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship, you have to think his girlfriend will be a big fan.

    “I was really excited to make it this far and it’s a real good opportunity,” he said. “I’m real blessed. Now the only goal is to win a gold medal.”

    Derryck Thornton, the 6-foot-2 2016 point guard from Findlay Prep, picked up a pair of offers and a slew of phonecalls on Sunday.

    Michigan and Oklahoma offered Thornton, his father, Tank Thornton, confirmed to SNY.tv.

    In addition, Kentucky’s John Calipari and Kenny Payne called to check in and say they plan to offer.

    “[Calipari] said, ‘I love him,'” said Tank, who previously coached former Kentucky forward Enes Kanter briefly at Stoneridge Prep. “‘I want to offer him face-to-face. I want him to know how hard it is here.’ Cal will tell you if you want to be a pro, you got to take a look at Kentucky.

    Recruiting

    Tyus Battle picked up scholarship offers from Florida and Michigan, his father told SNY.tv Sunday.

    “Today he got offered from Michigan and Florida, which was a big deal,” Gary Battle said by phone.

    Stanford and Cal-Berkeley also called to express interest.

    The 6-foot-6 2016 Gill St. Bernard’s guard is also at Louisville Sunday and Monday and will then head to Kentucky later Monday and on Tuesday. He recently visited  Michigan and Villanova.

    “He’s probably going to look at the campus [Monday] with [assistant] Kenny [Johnson],” Gary said of Louisville.
