    KETTERING, Ohio – Just one of the few un-committed top prospects in the 2014 class is Huntington (W.V.) Prep’s JaQuan Lyle, who dominated in Monday’s 78-36 win over Cleveland Central Catholic at the Flyin’ to the Hoop Invitational, going for 16 points, seven assists and three rebounds.

    The quality of play has been noticeably higher for Prep and Lyle as of late, and the 6-foot-5 guard explained why.

    “We got to go home for two weeks and got our minds right and got our bodies back right, and now we are back to playing good basketball,” the ex-Louisville commit Lyle said. “One good win versus Prime Prep, and another good win [Monday], so we are playing real well.”

    WINTER HAVEN, Fla.– Eric Hester is making a name for himself as one of the top guards in the class of 2016.

    Hester made the transfer to Oldsmar Christian School (Fla.) last year in the spring and he says that it has gone smoothly for him.

    “I’ve been playing pretty well so far this year,” Hester told SNY.tv at the Josh Giles Invitational on Saturday. “It’s been a lot different, a lot of good competition, I’ve been adapting to it well.”

    Jabari Parker has not made any decision about his plans for next year and will wait until the end of the season to announce his decision, his father told SNY.tv Monday evening.

    “I don’t know,” Sonny told SNY.tv. “I haven’t talked to him about it yet. We [will] talk about it after the season. I don’t know who’s saying all that. I know that he hasn’t said that.”

    The 6-foot-8 Parker is projected as the No. 3 pick in the NBA Draft by DraftExpress.com.

    Sonny said he knows Sam Smith, the veteran Chicago-based reporter, who reported that “the growing view among NBA executives seems to be Jabari Parker will not leave Duke this year.”

    Recruiting, Roselle Catholic

    KETTERING, Ohio – After a long wait, Roselle Catholic point guard Isaiah Briscoe made his junior season debut on Monday afternoon at Flyin’ to the Hoop. There was very little rust to be found on the 2015 guard’s game, as he went for 24 points and six rebounds as his Lions squad defeated Miller Grove (GA) 70-61.

    The win snapped a three-game losing streak for coach Dave Boff’s club, which lost to New Jersey rivals The Patrick School and Linden before falling to Northland (OH) on Saturday.

    When asked about his return, Briscoe expressed his excitement for rejoining his team.

    “It felt great, I got a chance to come back with my teammates. They’ve been waiting on me, I’ve been waiting to get back out there,” Briscoe said. “I was just so anxious to get out there and show how good we are as a team.”

    Findlay Prep guard Rashad Vaughn is targeting a college decision by late February or early March, he told Jeff Borzello of CBSSports.com Monday at the Hoophall Classic.

    “I got relationships with all the coaches, so it’s just where I fit in and can get better and play,” Vaughn said after scoring 12 points in Findlay’s 73-44 win over Wesleyan Christian (N.C.). It was his first game back from a left knee injury.

    The 6-foot-5 Vaughn could announce his choice by Twitter.

    Kentucky coach John Calipari and assistant Orlando Antigua arrived at halftime of the game and Vaughn reiterated he plans to take official visits to both Kentucky and Kansas. Iowa State assistant Matt Abdelmassih was also on hand.

    It’s impossible to ignore all the hype surrounding Syracuse freshman point guard Tyler Ennis and his improving NBA Draft status.

    DraftExpress.com currently has the 6-foot-2 Canadian — who on Monday was named ACC Rookie of the Week — projected as the No. 20 pick in the June Draft. He is the No. 3 point guard in the mock draft, behind only Australian Dante Exum at No. 5 and Oklahoma State sophomore Marcus Smart at No. 6.

    Keep in mind that the site pushed Kentucky’s Andrew Harrison back to the 2015 Draft.

    Yes, Ennis’ stock is sky-high right now and it’s possible the Bandwagon could grow still bigger if No. 2 Syracuse makes a deep run in March.

    Highlighted by six players who have won gold medals with USA Basketball teams in FIBA and/or FIBA Americas competitions, USA Basketball today announced the 10-member roster for the 2014 USA Junior National Select Team that will take on a World Select Team in the 2014 Nike Hoop Summit on April 12 at the Moda Center in Portland, Ore.

    The USA will be led at the 17th annual game by its most experienced roster yet as it looks to capture a win after losses in 2012 and 2013. Overall, the United States owns an 11-5 series advantage.

    Headlined by Jahlil Okafor  (Whitney Young H.S./Chicago, Ill.), a three-time gold medalist and MVP of the 2012 FIBA U17 World Championship, the 2014 USA Junior National Select Team roster also includes two-time gold medal winners Stanley Johnson (Mater Dei H.S./Fullerton, Calif.),  Tyus Jones (Apple Valley H.S./Apple Valley, Minn.) and Justise Winslow  (St. John’s School/Houston, Texas); as well as Joel Berry II (Lake Highland Prep School/Apopka, Fla.) and  Theo Pinson (Wesleyan Christian Academy/Greensboro, N.C.), who each own one international gold medal.
