Following his recent collapse on-stage at the Capitol Theatre, Bobby Weir is “unable to perform in any capacity for the next several weeks,” he announced Tuesday on his Website and on the Furthur Website.
The band cancelled their scheduled May 9 performance in Napa Valley, and is next slated to play the Barclays Center July 11, followed by the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, N.J. on July 12.
Weir issued the following statement:
Hakeem Harris, a 6-foot-1 combo guard from Connors (OK) State College, has committed to Seton Hall after visiting the school.
“Commited to Seton Hall!!!” he said on Twitter.
A New York native who grew up in Bergenfield, N.J. and initially committed to Brown University, Harris averaged 12.4 points and 3.0 assists last season at Connors, where he started 27 of 30 games on a team that went 24-9.
He is a combo guard who can help provide depth in the backcourt behind guards Jaren Sina and Sterling Gibbs. He has two years of eligibility remaining.
Florida is making a habit out of landing transfer guards from Rutgers.
For the second time in four years, a former Rutgers and St. Anthony guard is headed to Florida.
Last time around it was Mike Rosario, now it’s Eli Carter.
And he could end up getting a hardship waiver to play right away.

GREENBURGH, N.Y. — Carmelo Anthony says it took great confidence for Jason Collins to come out as gay on Tuesday.
Except he didn’t exactly use the word confident.
“It takes big balls to do that, especially [in] the society that we live in, knowing that everybody gonna have something to say,” Anthony said Tuesday ahead of Wednesday’s Game 5 against the Celtics at Madison Square Garden.
“So for him to step up to the plate and do that, I’m pretty sure that that opened the floodgates for a lot of other people.”
GREENBURGH, N.Y. — J.R. Smith says the Knicks would’ve swept the Celtics had he been playing in Game 4 on Sunday.
“Oh, yeah, it’d been over, it would’ve been over,” he said Tuesday after practice. “I would’ve been playing golf today.’
After being suspended one game for elbowing Jason Terry in the face in Game 3, Smith watched on TV as the Knicks lost Game 4, 97-90, in OT.
Now, he says he’s fresh and motivated for Game 5 Wednesday night at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks will try to close out the series.

Eddie Jordan has received his first commitment from a player he recruited as the head coach of Rutgers in D’Von Campbell.
The 6-foot-1, 175-pound Campbell was the point guard at Hutchinson (Kan.) County College, averaging 12.1 points and 4.0 assists per game while helping guide them to a 31-4 record and the No. 1 ranking in the nation during the season on a team that has all five of its starters going Division I.
He played under Tim Floyd at UTEP as a freshman, averaging 2.3 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists in 11 minutes per game, before transferring to Hutchinson.
“I chose Rutgers because its a wonderful community,” Campbell told SNY.tv. “Coach Jordan is a cool and relaxed guy who was easy to talk to. The players returning are excellent guys and I got along with them.”
