Clapton, Allman Brothers, Furthur All Invading New York

It’s been a while since we posted any rock ‘n’ roll news here on ZAGS, but now that the Final Four’s over we hope that will change.

The coming weeks and months will feature some great music here in New York that I plan to enjoy, and I hope you can get out to hear it as well.

Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival hits MSG Friday and Saturday, and I’ll be there at least one night. Word is EC will play acoustic Friday, and that The Allman Brothers Band will follow. Check Eric with The Allmans doing ‘Stormy Monday’ in the above video.

Beginning Monday, Furthur will play nine sold-out shows at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y.

The last time we saw the remnants of The Dead — including Phil Lesh and Bobby Weir — they sounded tremendous. Here’s a sample:
