Louisville-Indiana Discussing 3-Year Series

NEW YORK — Louisville and Indiana have discussed a three-year series that would alternate locations, sources told SNY.tv.

The series is not finalized yet, sources said, butĀ Louisville coach Rick Pitino told a small group of reporters Friday night that his team would play a “big school” in the series.

“We have this team we’re going to play and it’s not announced,” Pitino said in advance of tonight’s Big East championship game against Syracuse.

“We also have Kentucky, we also play Western Kentucky so we have a lot of rivals that we’re going to play, and the new school that we’re booking for three years.”

Pitino said the series would rotate.

“One year here, one there to their place and one year to our place,” he said. “We just can’t say who it is right now but it’s a big school.”

Joe Lunardi currently has both Indiana and Louisville as No. 1 seeds this year, along with Kansas and Gonzaga.
