    We won’t know where Andrew Wiggins is going until he makes his official announcement, but he sure seems excited about Kentucky’s potential.

    Speaking in the above video at the McDonald’s All-American Game, Wiggins gushed about Kentucky’s chances if he were to join a group that already includes six McDonald’s and Jordan Brand All-Americans.

    “Oh, that would be crazy,” said the 6-foot-8 Wiggins, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. “It would be the best college team ever. We got five, top six players going to one school, so the impact on college basketball would be crazy.

    Knicks

    NEW YORK — When the Knicks visit the Miami Heat on Tuesday, a winning streak will be on the line.

    But it won’t be what would’ve been Miami’s 30-game winning streak had they kept it going and not stumbled last week against the Chicago Bulls.

    Instead, after beating the Boston Celtics 108-89 on Easter Sunday at Madison Square Garden, the Knicks will put their NBA-best eight-game streak on the line against LeBron and Company with a chance to take the season series, 3-1.

    After Louisville sophomore Kevin Ware went down with a gruesome right leg injury that left his teammates shellshocked and crying, he only had one thing on his mind.

    “The bone was six inches out of his leg and all he’s yelling, ‘Win the game, win the game,'” Louisville coach Rick Pitino told CBS after the Cardinals knocked off Duke, 85-63, in the Midwest Region final in Indianapolis.

    “I’ve not seen that in my life.”

    Using the gruesome first-half injury as inspiration to play for their fallen teammate, Louisville advanced to its second straight Final Four and will face Wichita State in one national semifinal on Saturday in Atlanta.

    Ware, a Bronx native, had surgery on the open fracture Sunday night, and Pitino remained with him at the hospital. This picture shows Ware holding the Midwest Region trophy, presented to him by Pitino.

    NEW YORK — Tyson Chandler missed his 10th straight game Sunday night because of a bulging disc in his neck, but the Knicks All-Star center said he hopes to practice Monday and return Tuesday against the Heat in Miami.

    “Yeah, absolutely,” he said Sunday evening after he worked out on the court — including taking several short hook shots — for the first time since the injury surfaced after he was hit in a game March 13 at Denver. “That’s what I’m shooting for barring any setbacks.”

    After dispatching the Boston Celtics 108-89, the Knicks are 8-2 and have won eight straight without Chandler, who is averaging 10.7 points and 11.0 rebounds on the season.

    FORT MEYERS, Fla. –– The week of madness surrounding the Florida Gulf Coast University men’s basketball team that came to an end late Friday night with a 62-50 loss to Florida in the Sweet 16 just might be the end of “Dunk City” as America has come to know it.

    After shocking the world by defeating Georgetown and San Diego State and becoming the first No. 15 seed to advance to the Sweet 16, things came to a crashing halt thanks to Florida’s athleticism on the glass and stingy defense.

    And before the Eagles could even get off the plane in Fort Myers on Saturday, reports began to surface regarding potential suitors for FGCU coach Andy Enfield, who quickly has become a hot commodity in the coaching world.

    Yahoo! Sports first reported that USC is targeting Enfield for its coaching vacancy and KSTP in Minnesota reported that University of Minnesota officials have reached out to Enfield about potentially replacing Tubby Smith.

    The Fort Myers News-Press caught up with Enfield on Saturday as the team landed in Fort Myers and said that FGCU athletic director Ken Kavanagh had not been contacted by any other universities regarding Enfield as of Saturday afternoon.

    “I’m not going to comment or speculate on anything,” Enfield told The News-Press. “I understand speculation is part of the business.

    Jaren Sina’s recruitment remains in flux after he met Saturday with Indiana head coach Tom Crean and also spoke with new Northwestern coach Chris Collins.

    The Gill St. Bernard’s point guard recently re-opened his recruitment after Bill Carmody was fired at Northwestern. He is still considering Alabama, Northwestern and Seton Hall, with both the Sina camp and Indiana feeling one another out.

    “Right now there’s just a small choice of schools that we’re staying in the loop with,” Mergin Sina, Jaren’s father and coach, told SNY.tv Sunday.

    Mergin said the Indiana meeting went well but it remains unclear if the Hoosiers will have an open scholarship for Jaren.

    “He’s grown up so much,” 1990 Big East Player of the Year and 14-year NBA veteran Derrick Coleman told SNY.tv moments after Carter-Williams was named Most Outstanding Player of the East Regional by leading Syracuse to the Final Four thanks to a 55-39 win over Marquette at the Verizon Center. “He’s taken all the criticism and still maintained his confidence and just kept playing basketball. That’s what it’s all about. Once you’re out there on that court, you just have to play and that’s exactly what he’s done all season.”
