Milton Doyle May Soon Commit to Kansas

Chicago Marshall shooting guard Milton Doyle may soon commit to Kansas, his mother told SNY.tv Tuesday morning.

“Right now he’s just visiting,” Lisa Green said by phone. “We talked about it. I did tell him if he wants to give a verbal commit he can do that. If he really likes it, if they really woo him.”

The 6-foot-4 Doyle has been on campus since Monday and is due to return to Chicago Tuesday night.

“He hasn’t committed yet,” his mother said.

Doyle initially committed to FIU but parted ways once Chicago native Isiah Thomas was fired. (Read more on that here.)

“The way things went it was really tacky and really messy how things went down,” Green said. “Basically  he was going because of Isiah, because of what Isiah can teach him.”

Kansas assistant Kurtis Townsend is recruiting Doyle, who averaged 19 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals while earning third-team All-State honors last season from the Chicago Tribune.

Kansas returns guards Naadir Tharpe and Elijah Johnson, plus senior wing Travis Releford. They also have freshmen wings Andrew White and Ben McLemore coming in.

  • Wow what a haul!!!!

  • And Vegas STILL has more faith in Kansas than Arizona!!

  • When preseason?
    We talkin preseason son?
    KU king of the preseason.

  • So your point is betting lines can’t forecast how teams will grow and ultimately perform?

Damn you make fearthephog look smart.

  • KU is the king of preseason huh?

Last time I checked KU was playing in the national championship game while U of A was watching the game on TV after being knocked out of the first round of the NIT (at home no less).

    Final Coaches Poll Rankings:

    2012: KU-#2 UA-No votes
    2011: KU-#4 UA-#9
    2010: KU-#6 UA-No votes
    2009: KU-#10 UA-#24
    2008: KU-#1 UA-No votes

    Not just a preseason thing…

  • +1 rcku … these AZ fans still talkin smack on KU after a 1st round bow-out in the NIT (at home) when Bill Self had KU in the NCAA National Championship game (in a “down year”).

Keep patting yourselves on the backs on the Tarc recruiting sweepstakes … that’s all you got.

  • Can someone tell me who this recruit is and why KU is frontrunner. Sorry never heard of him. But that’s how KU recruiting seems to b going these days.

  • OH!!!! I get it, now. BJ really doesn’t want to talk college basketball at all. He really wants to discuss how recruiting services have ranked UofA’s incoming class. In other words, applaud pure conjecture.

Jayhawk fans, you’re wasting your time talking about achievements actually earned on the court. You all hang banners for conference titles, Final Four appearance, national championships, etc. Apparently, at Arizona, at least in BJ’s mind, they hang banners for top recruiting class.

And never mind that your Jayhawks have a top class coming in themeselves, coached by the Naismith Coach of the Year… who just took what was supposed to be his least talented team to the NCAA title game. Never mind those facts. They’re simply too inconvenient.

  • Everyone of those banners you speak of we also have hanging at McKale.

  • Top recruiting classes lead to deep tourny runs. Is that hard to understand ?
    Anyone want to dispute that?
    Can’t win without good talent.

  • KU fans excited about this kid?

  • Don’t think it’s going to matter. Just got word Adams qualifies and good chance Harris does (SC) something this week. If Harris doesn’t commit, I could see this happening, but I doubt it. Self told him he had to wait until KU knew about the other two.

  • uofa, i’ll dispute. what do you consider a top class? top 3? are you basing this off deep runs like final 4’s? also, where was ua mentioned in this article? please don’t try and relate banners in your arena, to those hanging in allen fieldhouse. that’s just silly good sir. it’s kansas basketball…..when is there not excitement about all of it? funny how you tried to spin ku as “preseason kings” after you and your brother have been called out numerious times with your baseless offseason predictions. not gonna work sir

  • Preseason kings comment was a joke mike.
Wasn’t comparing banners just pointing out that we 2 have all the same banners: conference championship, final fours , NC.

Seriously though do KU fans have a clue who this guy is?
Most be damaged goods if he was with isiah. Seriously never heard of him and wondering why KU is involved.

  • No arizona isn’t mentioned in this article( thank god)
But what’s your point, I will comment on whatever article I like Sargent douch.

  • so you aren’t gonna answer regarding “top classes” and deep runs?” typical…i guess doyle was a back up plan in case adams didn’t pass his act. that’s my honest opinion. i’ll trust coach self with talent evaluation and getting the most out of players…do you? care to , argue winning percentage at ku with the kids he brings in maybe? or for that matter illinois? trust in coach self sir, as he does count w’s. did ua recruit adams and offer? sargent? what is a sargent? wrong branch, and i think you meant SERGENT…but poke fun at the military bj……nothing better then that i suppose. move along
