NEW YORK — Knicks shooting guard Kelenna Azubuike still hasn’t circled a date for his debut, but hopes he can play in a game “soon.”
“I feel really good,” the 6-foot-6 former Kentucky star said Tuesday before the Knicks hosted the Charlotte Bobcats.
He participated Monday in his first five-on-five scrimmage since undergoing left knee surgery a year ago.
“I know it’s going to hold up,” he said at his locker as he iced the knee. “I’m just getting more used to it and getting more confident on it.”
He added: “I’m not as explosive as I want to be yet, but it’s something that I’m jumping higher than I was when I started. It’s all about the confidence and shaking the rust off. It’s been a long time. I’m really looking forward to being out there.””
Even though the Knicks took a three-game winning streak into the Charlotte game, he said it’s been tough watching his teammates.
“There’s nothing easy about sitting out,” he said.

MWhahahahaha, UW lost, bwahahhahahahahaha. All the preseason smack talk. LOVE IT. In other news, I would rather us be playing Mich St. in the finals, but UConn has clearly proved they are dangerous. I’m looking to start some smack with someone if anybody is interested.
