It’s been a busy couple of days for Quade Green.
The 6-foot point guard from Neumann-Goretti High School and the PSA Cardinals visited Syracuse over the weekend and then picked up a scholarship offer from Kansas on Tuesday.
“Coach [Bill] Self called me,” Green said Wednesday by phone. “He gave me an offer. It’s pretty good. I’m enjoying it right now.”
He added: “I’ve heard they let their guards go, they got great alumni.”
Green already holds offers from numerous high-major programs, including Syracuse, Miami, Xavier and Temple, while Duke is showing interest and recently had two assistants at Neumann-Goretti.
He visited Syracuse with 2016 power forward Taurean Thompson, 2017 recruits Hamidou Diallo and Jordan Tucker and Colorado State transfer John Gillon, who committed to the Orange.
“It went well, they appreciate me out there,” Green said of Syracuse. “They want me to come and be the point guard, get everybody involved.”
He added: “We just had fun all weekend and just chilled with the team.”
Green said he and Diallo spoke about possibly playing together. The 6-6 Diallo recently picked up offers from Duke and Kentucky to go with the many others he has.
“He loved it though,” Green said of Diallo.
He has already visited Syracuse, Villanova, Temple, Saint Joe’s and Rutgers, and said he wants to visit Louisville, Michigan State, Miami, Arizona and Xavier in the coming months.
“Probably over the summer,” he said.
Green is in high demand because he’s a pure point guard who is playing on a very high-profile AAU team alongside other Class of 2017 stars like Mohamed Bamba and Brandon Randolph.
“[Green] is a real hard worker so his ceiling is high,” Neumann-Goretti coach Carl Arrigale said. “He’s really out to show he can run a team. He is a plus shooter and ball-handler with a great deal of poise and no fear. He has a chance to be special.”
Terrance “Munch” Williams, the PSA Cardinals director, told SNY.tv that Green will not cut his list before August.
“Hopefully, I commit in September,” Green said recently. “That’s when I want to.”
