mbb033115Junior college star Bashir Ahmed is poised for his official visit to St. John’s this weekend following a trip to Cincinnati last weekend.

His visit to St. John’s will coincide with the school’s Dribble for the Cure event at 10 a.m. on Saturday as part of University Service Day on the St. John’s Queens campus.

The fundraising and awareness event has raised more than $155,000 for pediatric cancer research to-date.

“The visit was great, I enjoyed my weekend at Cincinnati,” he told SNY.tv. “The coaches was great and so were the players. I felt very comfortable. The players and coaches made me feel like I was apart of their team.

Azubuike is the No. 3 center in the Class of 2016, according to 247Sports.com.

“[The Kansas visit] actually went well. We definitely enjoyed the visit, we definitely enjoyed the atmosphere their campus provided,” Harry Coxsome, Azubuike’s brother, told SNY.tv. “We definitely felt good about it.”

bob_hurleyJERSEY CITY, N.J. — It turns out that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Or in this case, a legendary basketball coach.

After avoiding the Internet like a plague in recent years, St. Anthony’s coach Bob Hurley now owns an iPad and is familiarizing himself with email, YouTube, Twitter and various news Websites. The continuing Web-education of the Naismith Hall of Famer means that his basketball team could be even more potent in coming years as he expands his (seemingly endless) knowledge of the game and imparts it to his players.

And after more than 1,100 wins, 27 state championships and 12 New Jersey Tournament of Champions titles, the 68-year-old Hurley isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

“He has a passion for the game,” St. Anthony senior guard Jagan Mosely, who has committed to Georgetown, said Monday. “Every day he wakes up and thinks about basketball and family. He’s a family man, but he’s also definitely a basketball mind.”

GilesFollowing the first of his five scheduled official visits, Harry Giles says his impending college decision will be “tough.”

“I had a great visit to Wake Forest last weekend!” the 6-foot-10 Giles, the projected No. 1 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, wrote in his USA Today blog.

“I’m going to Kansas for Late Night in the Phog. After that I’m going to Kentucky for Big Blue Madness, North Carolina and I’ll end up at Duke for Halloween weekend!

“I can’t wait! I know all of the visits are gonna be crazy!
