    Syracuse signee Chris McCullough helped his new team get a win in his first game with the program.

    The 6-foot-10 McCullough went for 12 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks as the IMG Academy Blue team beat Elev8, 66-47, Tuesday night at IMG.

    “For 6-10, he’s athletic as [heck]. He did [well],” IMG coach John Mahoney, a former assistant under John Beilein at Michigan, told SNY.tv by phone. “We got him in Sunday and he had four practices [before the game]. He wasn’t perfect but some things he did well. Some things his natural ability took over.”

    Articles, Florida

    Chris Walker is close to making his college debut for Florida, but won’t compete against Memphis Dec. 17 in the Jimmy V Classic at Madison Square Garden.

    “I would say him playing in the Memphis game is not going to happen, no,” Florida coach Billy Donovan told reporters Monday.

    It had been thought that Walker might debut in the Memphis game.

    Donovan said the 6-foot-11 Walker has completed his online academic work and his fate now rests with the Florida admissions department and the NCAA Clearinghouse.

    Articles, UCLA

    Australian small forward Jonah Bolden committed to UCLA during an official visit to campus that ended Monday.

    The 6-foot-9, 210-pound Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep forward recently cut his list to six schools —  UCLA, Louisville, Kentucky, Indiana, USC and SMU — but UCLA always appeared to have an inside track after assistant coach David Grace visited the Bolden family in Australia.

    “Jonah was impressed with Coach [Steve] Alford and felt he would enjoy playing for him, particularly hearing he would play a small forward which is his natural position,” Bruce Bolden, the player’s father who visited UCLA with his son, told SNY.tv.
    “He also liked UCLA’s playing style and felt it suited his skill set and he could fit in with the players. Plus, the coaching staff is very experienced in developing players for the pros.”

    Recruiting

    Arizona is the latest high-major program to offer 2015 power forward Carlton Bragg.

    “We talked to Sean Miller tonight,” Michael Graves, Bragg’s mentor, told SNY.tv by phone.

    “He said he’s looking forward to recruiting him hard and watching him play and he’s going to try to make it down. He loves Carlton’s game and he offered him a scholarship.”

    Meantime, Bragg turns 18 on Saturday and he has a home game at Villa Angela St. Joseph (Ohio) against Euclid.

    Parker-OkaforAdd Jahlil Okafor to the growing chorus of folks who would love to see Jabari Parker have a sophomore season at Duke.

    “I would love for Jabari to stay,” the 6-foot-10 Okafor wrote in his USA Today blog. “We’re both from Chicago and we’re really good friends so to be able to team up with him on that level would be so big.

    “He respected me so much throughout my whole recruitment and he never once said ‘Come to Duke.’ He always said to do what was best for me and whatever makes me happy. That’s how I feel about his decision at the end of the season. I want him to do what’s right for him and what makes him happy.”
