    PHILADELPHIA — Malachi Richardson is planning four August visits.

    “I plan to go to Syracuse, Indiana, Miami and Florida this August,” the 2015 Roselle (N.J) Catholic wing told SNY.tv prior to the Mary Kline Classic.

    “No dates yet, just planning. Those are just schools that I’ve talked to but I haven’t been able to get out there and look at the schools.”

    The 6-foot-5 Richardson — the No. 19 prospect in the Class of 2015 according to Rivals — said he’s always been a Syracuse and Indiana fan.

    Following a three-day training camp featuring 30 members of the 2013-14 USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team, 16 finalists were announced for the 2013 USA Basketball U16 National Team.

    The roster will be pared down to 12 before the squad departs on June 7 for the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship, which will be played June 11-15 in Maldonado, Uruguay.

    The finalists, who must be 16-years-old or younger (born on or after Jan. 1, 1997) and a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this team, were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Developmental National Team Committee.

    Named as finalists to the 2013 U.S. U16 squad were: Thomas Bryant, pictured at left (Bishop Kearney H.S. / Rochester, N.Y.); Bryant Crawford (Gonzaga College H.S. (DC) / Kensington, Md.); Henry Ellenson (Rice Lake H.S. / Rice Lake, Wis.); Terrance Ferguson (Prime Prep Academy / Flower Mound, Texas); Daniel Giddens

    Daxter Miles is headed to West Virginia.

    The point guard out of Baltimore (Md.) Dunbar chose the Mountaineers over Xavier, Seton Hall, Villanova, Miami (FL), Providence, Oklahoma State and Kansas State. Depending on test scores, he will be available to start off the fall right away. He next takes the standardized test June 8.

    Miles, a Baltimore native, said that his relationship with the coaching staff was key to him choosing West Virginia.

    Travon WoodallAs former University of Pittsburgh and St. Anthony High School star Travon Woodall attempts to make the jump to the professional level, he is about to get his first opportunity to show an NBA team what he is capable of.

    The 6-foot, 190-pound point guard confirmed to SNY.tv Saturday evening that he will work out for the Washington Wizards on Tuesday. That will be his first workout for an NBA team this spring as individual workouts are expected to get under way league-wide beginning Monday. The NBA Draft is slated for June 27 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

    “I’m just happy for the opportunity, I wanna make the best of it,” Woodall told SNY.tv via text Saturday evening. “All it takes is for one team to love me. I know I can play at this level.”

    Tyus Battle will soon find out if he has made the 12-man roster for the USA U16 National Team, but he has already impressed head coach Don Showalter.

    “Boy I tell you, he is a tough kid defensive-wise,” Showalter told SNY.tv Saturday by phone from Colorado Springs, Colo. “He struggled a little bit shooting the ball the first practice or two, but he’s just kind of fitting right in and shooting the ball much better. So I like him a lot.”

    Showalter will cut the 31-man roster down to 12 on Saturday night and name the final list Sunday morning.

    The 6-foot-5 shooting guard out of Gladstone (N.J.) Gill St. Bernard’s is obviously hoping to make the roster for the FIBA Americas U16 Championship later this month in Uruguay.
