Former Seton Hall guard Aaron Cosby is down to two schools.

“After a few home visits and looking into other situations this past week I’m going to visit Missouri and Illinois this month and decide,” Cosby told SNY.tv

The reasoning he pegged those two schools is simple.

“Not only are they Top 25 NCAA Tourney caliber teams, they have made my family and I comfortable with the fit into their big picture,” Cosby said. “I’ve had to turn down some great options from really good schools but feel like these two schools and what they offer will be the best fit for me.”

Rashad Vaughn is close to trimming his list to seven or eight schools, he told SNY.tv Monday night.

“I haven’t sat down with my family yet but I’m looking to cut it down in the near future, probably like eight or seven,” the 6-foot-5 2014 guard from Robbinsdale Cooper (MN) said by phone.

Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Iowa State, Florida, Minnesota, Texas, Maryland, Baylor, Tennessee and Georgetown are among the schools recruiting Vaughn hard.

He declined to say which schools would make his final list.

Dunk City is coming to USC.

Just two days after UCLA hired Steve Alford as its new coach, crosstown rival USC answered by hiring Florida Gulf Coast coach Andy Enfield.

Enfield reportedly agreed to a six-year deal worth approximately $1.5 million annually. He was making $152,000 at Florida Gulf Coast.

The news was first reported by Pete Thamel of SI.com.

“Andy has been successful in every area of his life,” USC AD Pat Haden said. “He has been a success on the court as a record-setting player, in the classroom as an Academic All-American, in the corporate world with successful businesses, in his personal life as a husband and father, as an NBA assistant and shooting coach, as a collegiate assistant at Florida State and most recently as a head coach with his Sweet Sixteen team at Florida Gulf Coast.”

N.C. State, Transfers, West Virginia

 

N.C. State freshman guard Rodney Purvis and a trio of West Virginia Mountaineers are all transferring.

Aaron Brown, Volodymyr Gerun and Mount Vernon, N.Y., native Jabarie Hinds are all leaving Bob Huggins‘ program, the school announced.

Purvis, whose transfer was reported by NewsObserver.com, is a McDonald’s All-American who averaged 8.3 points and 2.4 rebounds this season.

He confirmed the decision on his Twitter account on Monday afternoon.

When Rick Pitino left Kevin Ware’s hospital room in Indianapolis Monday morning, he offered Ware an important choice.

He could hold on to the Midwest Regional trophy that Louisville won in his honor with an 85-63 victory over Duke Sunday night, or Pitino could take it with him back to campus.

“It’s staying with me,” Ware told Pitino, who, along with his son, Richard Pitino, spent the night in the hospital.

And deservedly so.

Despite a gruesome leg injury that horrified his team, the crowd and the nation, Ware told his teammates to”Win the game” as he was carted off on a stretcher with his leg covered.

“If it wasn’t for Kevin, I don’t know if we could’ve gotten through last night,” Pitino said.
