Billy Joel has only performed two full shows in the last three years, and here is a clip from one of them on Saturday at the New Orleans Jazz Fest in what looks like an inspired performance.
The 63-year-old Joel came to New Orleans from Sydney, Australia, where he played a full set at the Stone Music Festival. He also recently sounded very strong while playing a five-song set at the 12/12/12 Hurricane Sandy benefit show.
Joel said he’s considering doing further gigs, and possibly doing entire albums within those shows, but has yet announce any dates.
“I’m putting my toe back into the water to see how performing feels,” he told Rolling Stone this month. “That doesn’t mean I’m going to walk away right after if I don’t like how they go, but if I do like how they go, I’ll probably end up booking some more gigs.”
