Mike Poole Gets Release from Rutgers

Count Mike Poole as the latest Rutgers player to get his release.

His mentor, Nate Blue, Tweeted that Poole would now consider Liberty, St. John’s, Iona and Norfolk State.

The 6-foot-5 Rosedale, N.Y., native averaged 4.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 18.6 minutes last season as a junior.

Poole, who has just one year of eligibility left, follows Eli Carter, Jerome Seagears, Malick Kone and Vincent Garrett out the door in the wake of the Mike Rice videotape scandal.

Speaking of Seagears, his high school coach, Darrick Bond, told SNY.tv he “loved” his weekend visit to Auburn and will visit Arkansas next weekend.

The only remaining scholarship players are Myles Mack, Derrick Randall, Kadeem Jack, Greg Lewis and Wally Judge.

Former commits Shane Rector (Missouri) and Chris Griffin (Auburn) have chosen other landing spots.
