One day after pledging to Arizona, Aaron Gordon put on a show in the McDonald’s All-American Game.
The 6-foot-9 forward from San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty was named the John R. Wooden MVP of the McDonald’s Game after he went for 24 points, including nine dunks, and eight rebounds to lead the West over the East, 110-99, at Chicago’s United Center.
“Another day at the office for the big fella,” Mitty coach Tim Kennedy told SNY.tv. “Very proud of him.”
After picking Arizona over Oregon, Kentucky and Washington, Gordon excelled in the open floor and scored on a variety of highlight-reel dunks.
If there were no age limit for this year’s NBA Draft, one NBA GM said Gordon would be the No. 3 overall pick behind fellow Class of 2014 stars Andrew Wiggins and Julius Randle.
The 6-8 Wiggins led the East squad with 19 points. He will decide between Kentucky, Kansas, Florida State and North Carolina, and recently said if he went to Kentucky, “We’d win it all for sure.”
