Former Fordham basketball player Lamount Samuell remains jailed in Brooklyn after being arrested more than a week ago for criminal possession of a weapon, New York law enforcement sources told SNY.tv Monday.
Samuell, 21, was arrested at 8:58 p.m. on Oct. 6 at his home in Brooklyn. Sources said Samuell, who had transferred to Bridgeport from Fordham, was home for the weekend.
No other details were immediately available.
Samuell attended multiple high schools, including Brooklyn Boys & Girls, where he helped coach Ruth Lovelace win the New York PSAL championship in 2009. He spent the 2009-10 season at Fitchburg (Mass.) Notre Dame Prep.
Lovelace was not immediately available for comment.
A 6-foot-4 guard, Samuel averaged 2.1 points in 26 games last season at Fordham.
