    Jabari Parker, the No. 1 prospect in the Class of 2013, could shut it down for next week’s Peach Jam and the rest of the summer due to a foot injury.

    “We don’t know yet,” Sonny Parker, Jabari’s father, told SNY.tv by text Tuesday. “Jabari has an appointment to see his Dr. Wednesday morning, then we will know.”

    Parker injured his foot during the U17 World Championships in Lithuania and sat out the semifinal game before playing 14 minutes as the Americans won the final.

    The Brooklyn Nets are bringing back free agent power forward Kris Humphries and with that, have all but completed a whirlwind free agency period.

    Humphries, a 6-foot-9 power forward and a double-double threat every night, has reportedly re-signed with the Nets for  two years and $24 million. The news was first reported by ESPN.

    “Kris has been a very consistent player for us over the past two years,” said Nets GM Billy King.  “He has developed into one of the top rebounding forwards in the league, and we are very pleased to welcome him back.”

    Brooklyn Nets

    As expected, the Brooklyn Nets announced the signings of free agent power forward Mirza Teletovic and free agent shooting guard Jerry Stackhouse on Monday.

    Teletovic’s deal is reportedly for the taxpayer mid-level exception of three years and approximately $9.7 million.

    At 6-foot-9, 240 pounds, the Yugoslavian-born Teletovic has flourished the last six seasons in Europe with 2012 Spanish ACB League semifinalist Caja Laboral Vitoria. In 34 games last season with Vitoria, Teletovic averaged 16.3 points and 6.9 rebounds in 31.1 minutes per game. In 10 Eurocup games last season, he averaged 21.7 points and 6.0 rebounds in 34.4 minutes per game.

    WASHINGTON — Troy Williams says there’s a decent chance he will package with his best friend Anthony “Cat” Barber at either Louisville or Alabama beginning next season.

    “Us going to the same college, there’s like a 50/50 chance that we might go,” the 6-foot-6 Williams told SNY.tv after putting up 14 points and 4 rebounds as USA East beat Lithuania, 93-91, Sunday in the fifth-place game of the Nike Global Challenge at the D.C. Armory.

    As reported in this earlier story, Barber is also considering Kansas, and if he picks the Jayhawks, the package deal would be off.

    WASHINGTON — Coaches from Kentucky, North Carolina, Missouri, UConn and Syracuse reached out to Kuran Iverson during the days leading up to the Nike Global Challenge to let him know he would be on their radar at the event.

    Unfortunately, they all had to wait a day to see Iverson’s debut because he missed Team USA East’s first game against China on Friday while taking care of his summer school obligations.

    The 6-foot-9 Iverson is leaving his native Connecticut where he attended Hartford Northwest Catholic and transitioning to Fishburne (Va.) Military Academy, according to Andre Harrington, Iverson’s mentor.
