Josh Brown, one of the top guards in the Class of 2013 out of the Sports U AAU program and two-time New Jersey Tournament of Champions winner St. Anthony, will be contributing periodically to ZAGSBLOG entering his senior season. Here’s his first entry:

What’s up, basketball fans?

Life is great. I got to watch the NBA draft Thursday night, and all I could think about is working on my game so that I can hear my name being called one day.

Former Louisville guard Chris Smith will be on the Knicks summer league team, he confirmed to SNY.tv.

“Yes,” Smith, a Freehold, N.J. native and the younger brother of free agent shooting guard J.R. Smith, said by text.

The Knicks haven’t released their Las Vegas roster yet, but Al Iannazzone of Newsday reported that Jerome Jordan and Josh Harrellson will play for the team, and that Toney Douglas wants to. Hoopshype reported that Belgian League MVP Chris Copeland will also play for the Knicks.

Legendary Hall of Fame coach Bob Hurley says the Nets are getting a winner in Kansas point guard Tyshawn Taylor.

The 6-foot-3 Hoboken, N.J., native won a mythical national championship at St. Anthony in 2008, when he went undefeated on a team with a slew of Division 1 prospects.

Despite a controversial career at Kansas that involved several suspensions for off-the-court issues, Taylor helped the Jayhawks win four consecutive Big 12 regular-season titles and, along with fellow senior Thomas Robinson, guided the Jayhawks to the NCAA championship game, where they lost to Kentucky in New Orleans.

“He’s used to winning,” Hurley, whose teams have won 65 straight games entering the 2012-13 season, told SNY.tv. “He won in college, he won in high school. I think he’s going to be a better pro than anyone would’ve ever thought.”

NEWARK — Kevin Jones waited patiently in the stands at The Prudential Center until about midnight Thursday.

With long, dejected faces, he and his family got up and walked out just before the Los Angeles Lakers made the 60th, and final, pick of the 2012 NBA Draft.

The 6-foot-8 Mount Vernon native and former West Virginia star was nearly the Big East Player of the Year this past season, but on this night he wasn’t even Mr. Irrelevant.

“Shock, disbelief,” Jones, a second-team All-American who averaged 19.9 points and 10.9 rebounds, told SNY.tv during an exclusive interview. “I thought I did enough to be able to be drafted out of 60 players. But it’s nothing new, I gotta prove myself again. It’s nothing new.”

NEWARK — Moe Harkless grew up a Knicks fan in Queens, but now he will be rooting for another Atlantic Division team.

The former St. John’s star was taken by the Philadelphia 76ers with the No. 15 in the NBA Draft and will play four times a year against the Knicks, including twice at Madison Square Garden, St. John’s second home. He will also visit Brooklyn twice a year to play the Nets at the Barclays Center.

“Now I can’t be a fan of the Knicks obviously, so every game [against them] is going to be the same,” Harkless, 19, said with a smile at The Prudential Center.
