Pittsburgh Latest to Offer Jaren Sina
PENNINGTON, N.J. — Pittsburgh is the latest school to offer uncommitted 2013 point guard Jaren Sina.
“Jamie Dixon called me and offered Jaren for Pitt,” Mergin Sina, Jaren’s father and the coach at Gill St. Bernard’s, said at the Mary Kline Classic.
A former Alabama commit, Sina was named co-MVP of the Mary Kline a week ago after putting up eight points and 14 assists in a loss.
Northwestern and Alabama are also involved, as are several Big East schools.
Kyrie Irving, who began his high school basketball career at tiny Montclair (N.J.) Kimberley Academy and finished up at powerhouse St. Patrick, will be named the NBA Rookie of the Year, according to reports.
