BOSTON –– The college basketball recruiting picture will become a whole lot clearer on April 11.

Shabazz Muhammad and Tony Parker, two of the top uncommitted players in the Class of 2012, are set to announce that day.

The 6-foot-6 Muhammad will announce April 11 in Charlotte at the Jordan Brand Classic, his father, Ron Holmes, told SNY.tv.

And the 6-foot-9 Parker will announce “at his school [Miller Grove] on the 11th,” his father, Virgil, told SNY.tv.

Virgil had previously said his son would announce at next week’s McDonald’s All-American Game in Chicago, where Muhammad will also play.

Point Guard Bloodman Visiting Seton Hall

BOSTON — Seton Hall hopes to add another point guard to its 2012 recruiting class and is focusing on 6-foot Trivante Bloodman of Olney (Ill.) Central College.

“He’s doing the official this weekend to Seton Hall,” Olney assistant Dan Matic told SNY.tv by phone. “He gets there tomorrow [Sunday].”

Bloodman, a Manhattan native, will also visit Cleveland State (April 14-16) and Texas Tech (22-24).

PHOENIX — Rick Pitino launched the legend of “Billy the Kid” with a lie.

In the mid-1980s, Donovan was a pudgy, unimpressive point guard struggling to crack coach Pitino’s rotation at Providence when he contemplated transferring.

Pitino was more than happy to oblige Donovan’s transfer request, considering Donovan averaged just 2.5 points in his first two seasons with the Friars.

Pitino called Jim Calhoun at Northeastern and Terry O’ Connor at Fairfield and found that neither were interested in the 190-pound reserve.

Syracuse Working Hardest on Isaiah Briscoe

BOSTON –– While Syracuse is here for tonight’s Elite Eight game against Ohio State, the Orange are also looking ahead to life down the road.

Assistant coach Adrian Autry and the Orange have made St. Benedict’s Prep freshman guard Isaiah Briscoe a top priority in the Class of 2015 and appear to be in strong shape.

“Syracuse is working the hardest,” George Briscoe, Isaiah’s father, told SNY.tv Saturday.
