Oklahoma State suspended starting forward Darrell Williams on Monday after he was charged with four felony counts alleging he inappropriately touched two women without their consent.

Williams, a 21-year-old junior forward, made a brief court appearance after he was charged with one count of sexual battery and three counts of rape by instrumentation.

“It goes without saying that we take the charges very seriously,” coach Travis Ford said in a statement. “Darrell will not travel or play while the legal issues are addressed.”

Rasheed Sulaimon will get a two-for-one on Wednesday night.

That’s when the 6-foot-4, 180-pound Houston Strake Jesuit shooting guard will be in Durham, N.C. to watch the first North Carolina-Duke game of the season at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

“Me and my family are looking forward to seeing a great game,” he said by phone from Houston. “Both schools are recruiting me. This is the best time for us to go. We’re just going to go there expecting a great game, a great atmosphere.”

Travon Woodall didn’t have any problem filling in for the injured Ashton Gibbs on “Big Monday.”

After all, Woodall came off the bench at St. Anthony High School and backed up a few pretty good players in Jio Fontan, Tyshawn Taylor and Mike Rosario.

“In my head, I’m the first guy coming off the bench but at the same time I’m like a sixth starter,” Woodall said by phone after scoring 12 points and dishing 3 assists as No. 4 Pittsburgh beat No. 25 West Virginia, 71-66, in the “Backyard Brawl” in Morgantown, W.V.

“Coach [Jamie] Dixon does a great job with making me realize that I’m not only a guy coming off the bench, but I’m basically like a sixth starter.”

Alex Murphy, the No. 1 small forward in the Class of 2012, has verbally pledged to Duke.

“Alex obviously thinks that Duke is the best place for him to reach his dreams and goals in basketball on the court and off the court,” his father, Jay, said by phone.

The 6-foot-8 Murphy out of St Mark’s (Mass.) chose Duke over Florida, Boston College, West Virginia, Kansas and North Carolina. He is the Blue Devils’ first 2012 commit.

UConn is trying to get involved with the Christ the King program.

In the past few days the Huskies have offered junior combo guard Omar Calhoun (pictured) and sophomore point guard Isaiah Lewis.

“Yes, UConn offered today [Monday],” Lewis said by text, confirming Alex Kline’s initial report.

“I also have offers from Arizona, Oregon State, Georgia Tech, Seton Hall, St. John’s, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Florida State and Florida.”

NEWARK, N.J. — Kevin Willard issued a direct challenge to his Seton Hall players after Saturday’s collapse against No. 6 UConn.

“We have six seniors who are either going to to mail it in or see what they’re made of,” Willard said after his team blew a 14-point second-half lead and fell to the Huskes, 61-59, at The Prudential Center.

This is surely not how Willard imagined things unfolding in his first year in the Big East after leaving Iona.

First, Herb Pope nearly died after collapsing in April and had to undergo heart surgery from which he is still working his way back.
