**With Enes Kanter having been ruled ineligible by the NCAA, Kentucky freshman Terrence Jones took control for the Wildcats.

**Brandon Knight, Jones’ fellow freshman and the heir apparent to John Wall, Tyreke Evans and Derrick Rose, was feeling it from outside and gave East Tennessee 17 points and 5 assists
**Former Oak Hill Academy star Doron Lamb of New York, yet another Kentucky frosh, dropped 20 points in his first college game…
**Dion Waiters of Syracuse, who played down the Jersey Turnpike at Burlington Life Center, scored 10 points in Syracuse’s 68-46 win over Northern Iowa
**Ohio State big man Jared Sullinger had 19 and 14 in the Buckeyes’ win over North Carolina A&T
**Closer to home, Rutgers wing Mike Poole of St. Benedict’s Prep, scored 14 on 6 of 8 shooting and made five steals in a 78-73 OT loss at Princeton.
**Seton Hall frosh Fuquan Edwin (six points, two rebounds) got the start for Seton Hall alongside junior point guard Jordan Theodore, but the Pirates lost at No. 22 Temple, 62-56. Edwin and Theodore teamed to win a Passaic County title at Paterson Catholic, which closed in June.
