Dane Miller has joined some elite company.

By winning his third straight Big East Rookie of the Week honors, Miller  joined Carmelo Anthony as the only conference frosh ever to win three straight such awards.

Anthony did it during the 2002-3 season when he led Syracuse to a national championship.

Brooklyn’s Lance Stephenson of Cincinnati was named the Preseason Rookie of the Year by the coaches and many expected “Born Ready” to run away with the postseason honors.

But the 6-foot-7 Miller is making a hard push. He leads Big East frosh in scoring (12.5 ppg) and is second in rebounding (6.6).

NEW YORK — It didn’t take long for ‘Spanish Chocolate’ to get the call.

No, we’re not talking about a type of coffee, but rather the new Knicks’ point guard.

Sergio Rodriguez, obtained at the trading deadline in the Tracy McGrady deal, will make his first start of the season in just his second game with the Knicks.

“Tonight, we’ll change it. Sergio will start,” Knicks coach Mike D’Antoni said before the Knicks faced Milwaukee on Legends Night at Madison Square Garden.

Maurice Walker is one of the most sought after big men in the Class of 2010.

The 6-foot-10, 280-pound Toronto native is currently playing at Wolfeboro  (N.H.) Brewster Academy and plans to cut his list with his father later this week.

“We plan on sitting down this week to hash out our top five and see if we can schedule our visits for the spring and get that portion of things wrapped up,” Craig Walker said Monday by phone.

Walker is ranked No. 12 among centers in the Class of 2010 and No. 118 overall by Rivals.

Craig Walker said the current list for his son includes Seton Hall, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Marquette and St. John’s. He added that South Florida, Oregon State and Memphis have also expressed interest.

It is very early in the recruiting process for Andre Drummond, the No. 1 sophomore in the country.

But not too early for him to visit a few schools and a get a feel for different campuses.

The 6-foot-11, 270-pound Drummond took his latest visit to Rutgers Saturday to watch UConn beat the Scarlet Knights, 76-58, at the Rutgers Athletic Center.

“Rutgers is recruiting me hard and I promised them I’d go to one of their games. I just went to watch the game. I thought the game was pretty good. I like both teams, Rutgers and UConn,” Drummond said Sunday by phone.

UConn (16-11, 6-8 Big East) is trying to make a late push for the NCAA tournament, while Rutgers (14-13, 4-10) is attempting to close the season on a positive note.
