GREENBURGH, N.Y. –If the Knicks decide they want to go big with the No. 8 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, Jordan Hill is ready to play for them.

The 6-foot-10 Hill worked out for the Knicks’ brass all by himself on Tuesday afternoon and then went to lunch with GM Donnie Walsh and head coach Mike D’Antoni. A junior out of Arizona, Hill averaged 18.3 points, 11.0 rebounds and 1.7 blocks last season on campus.

“I can’t say that they really want me but I’m just going to keep going out there and working hard,” he told an intimate group of reporters. “If they do want me, I think I’m a good pick for them. We just got to see how they feel about me.”

GREENBURGH, N.Y. — OK, now I officially have no idea where Lance Stephenson is going to college.

Just a week after I said I thought Maryland was the leader for his services, the Baltimore Sun is quoting two unnamed sources as saying the Terps are no longer recruiting the 6-foot-5 Stephenson.

Last week Lance said he was considering Arizona, Florida, Maryland and Memphis and would decide within “three weeks.”

GREENBURGH, N.Y. –Notre Dame forward Luke Harangody has withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft and will return to the Irish, instantly making them a force in the Big East.

The 6-foot-8 Harangody averaged 23.3 points and 11.8 rebounds last season as a junior and was projected as a second-round pick.

There were concerns that he was undersized for the four position and not athletic or quick enough for the three.

“First of all, we are thrilled that Luke has decided to return to Notre Dame and be a part of our program for his senior year,” Irish head coach Mike Brey said. “I believe that the past several weeks have been a great learning experience for Luke and his family. He has handled this as a man and I am very proud that he went through this whole process.

Pittsburgh, Rutgers, USA Basketball

Rutgers guard Mike Rosario was named to the World Juniors All-Tournament Team after helping the Puerto Rico U19 national squad to a 3-2 record and a second place finish in the event. Rosario registered 20 points, five rebounds and four assists, as Puerto Rico concluded the tournament with a 73-59 victory over Australia on Sunday.

Puerto Rico also earned victories over USA 2KSports (105-90) and Lithuania (58-56), and dropped a pair of one-point decisions to tournament champion Canada (77-76) and host France (85-84). Rosario averaged 20.4 points and 5.0 rebounds in the six-nation tournament, while shooting 29-of-37 from the free throw line.

The tournament was in preparation for the 2009 FIBA U19 World Championships, set to take place in Auckland, New Zealand July 2-12. Puerto Rico will compete in Group A, along with

NBA Agents, UConn

UConn’s Ater Majok will pull his name out of the NBA Draft before Monday’s 5 p.m. deadline, according to FoxSports.com.

“He’s going to pull his name out,” UConn coach Jim Calhoun, who is recovering from a bike accident that broke five ribs and caused him to be hospitalized, told FOXSports.com. “That’s what he told me [Saturday].”

Professional teams in Spain, Italy and Greece have shown interest in the 6-foot-10 Majok, a native of Sudan via Australia. But he is likely to return to UConn, according to his former coach, Ed Smith.
