    Jio Fontan and Mike Rosario combined for 37 points but Puerto Rico lost to France 85-84 Thursday in the World Juniors Basketball Tournament in Douai, France.

    Fontan, who has said he won’t play at Fordham in the future because the school won’t grant him a release, dropped 25 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

    Rosario, a 6-3 shooting guard from Rutgers, added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Rosario was coming off a 33-point outburst against a team of American high school stars.

    Puerto Rico is prepping for the FIBA U19 World Championships in New Zealand July 2-12.

    Fontan and Rosario teamed at St. Anthony of Jersey City to win the New Jersey Tournament of Champions and a mythical national championship in 2008.

    Carmelo Anthony has fired agent Calvin Andrews and will sign with Creative Artists Agency, according to an industry source.

    Bill Duffy, Andrews’ boss at Bill Duffy Associates, and Leon Rose, CAA’s renowned basketball agent, were not immediately available for comment.

    Rose is a close friend and business associate of William Wesley, aka “Worldwide Wes,” the basketball power broker who maintains a close relationship with CAA’s biggest sports client, LeBron James.

    Other CAA clients include Allen Iverson, Tony Parker, Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning and  Sidney Crosby.

    Arizona, Florida, Memphis, USC

    Lamont “Momo” Jones is seeking his release from Southern California in the wake of the news that head coach Tim Floyd had resigned amid the O.J. Mayo scandal.

    If Jones does get his release, his likely landing spot will be Arizona, Florida or Memphis, according to sources.

    “He plans on getting his release and taking a couple of visits,” Oak Hill (Va.) Academy coach Steve Smith wrote in a text.

    Of course, Jones could always opt to remain at USC despite the coaching change. No school is permitted to have contact with him unless, and until, he is granted a release.

    Arizona landed New York product Kevin Parrom and is also recruiting Lance Stephenson.

    Lance Stephenson told me last week he had “three more weeks to make my [college] decision.”

    Lance said he didn’t have a specific date in mind to announce, but his sexual assault case resumes June 29 in Brooklyn Criminal Court.

    Stephenson said he was considering Arizona, Florida, Maryland and Memphis, but Gary Parrish is reporting that Florida is out of the mix.

    “[There’s a] zero [percent] chance we take him,” a source close to the Florida program told Parrish.

    Arizona coach Sean Miller is on record saying he would likely keep his recruiting class at three and not add a fourth player.

    And Memphis coach Josh Pastner remains interested in adding talented players, but doesn’t seem to have a clear picture on what Stephenson’s intentions are.

    Kentucky, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, St. John's, Villanova

    Two more Kentucky players are leaving the program, according to various reports.

    Matt Pilgrim and Kevin Galloway are on their way out, leaving the Wildcats at 12 scholarship players.

    Pilgrim sat out last season after transferring from Hampton. He never played a game at Kentucky.

    Galloway averaged 10 minutes and 1.9 points a game last year after transferring from Southern Idaho.

    Guard Jodie Meeks has until Monday to pull his name out of the NBA Draft and reports indicate he may do so and remain on campus for his senior year.

    If Meeks does return, Kentucky will be absolutely loaded, assuming its awesome recruiting class — led by John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins — gets qualified.

    ***This just in from the World Juniors Basketball Tournament in Douai, France…Rutgers guard Mike Rosario dropped 33 points Wednesday night as Puerto Rico beat the U.S. 105-90 in its first game.

    Rosario made five 3-pointers and was 10-of-15 from the line in 29 minutes.

    I could not be happier to hear this news…Canadian heavy metal band Anvil will open two dates for AC/DC this summer, at Gillette Stadium in Boston July 29 and Giants Stadium in New Jersey July 31.

    I saw AC/DC last November at MSG and it was the loudest show I’ve ever seen, and certainly one of the best.
