Mount Vernon (N.Y.) senior wing Sherrod Wright is in the process of narrowing down his college options in the days leading up to the NCAA late signing period.

George Mason, Seton Hall, South Florida, Central Florida, Manhattan, Fordham, Hofstra and Duquesne are all possibilities, according to Mount Vernon coach Bob Cimmino.

“Those are the main players for him now,” Cimmino said Thursday. “I think he wants to sign in the April signing period.”

NEW YORK – Lance Stephenson says he has already made up his mind about college.

He’s just not ready to announce it to the world yet.

“I already know where I’m going,” the 6-foot-5 Stephenson said Wednesday afternoon at a press conference at Madison Square Garden in advance of Saturday’s PSAL championship game. “I been having it in my head about a week ago.”

Asked why he didn’t just announce right then, Stephenson smiled and said, “It’s not the right place.”

Landesberg Will Await New Virginia Coach

Former Holy Cross star Sylven Landesberg will wait to see who replaces Dave Leitao as the new Virginia coach before making any decisions about his future, according to Holy Cross coach Paul Gilvary.

The 6-foot-6 Landesberg, a Brooklyn native, led Virginia in scoring as a freshman at 16.6 points per game and also averaged 6.0 rebounds and was named the ACC Freshman of the Year.

“He’s a pretty sharp kid,” Gilvary said Tuesday by phone. “His parents are very smart people, too. He wouldn’t do anything until a new coach is hired and then he’ll meet with the new coach and if any decision needs to be made it won’t be made until things play out.”
