Josh Perkins is on the move.
The four-star point guard announced Friday by Twitter he is transferring to Huntington (W.V.) Prep from Denver (CO) Regis Jesuit.
“I will be attending Huntington Prep high school for the 2013-14 season! My regards to the entire Regis community! I love y’all!” he Tweeted.
Perkins and 6-7 small forward Jalen Lindsey of Tennessee both now enter Huntington Prep to play for coach Rob Fulford just as Gatorade National Player of the Year Andrew Wiggins heads to Kansas and seven of his teammates also head to high-major outfits.
Fulford Tweeted: “Want to welcome Josh Perkins to the Huntington Prep family. Josh is a 5 Star PG from Colorado!”
Perkins also recently picked up an offer from UCLA’s new head coach, Steve Alford, adding to a growing list that includes Gonzaga, Kansas, Arizona and more.
The Rivals No. 42 prospect in the Class of 2014 is wasting no time in taking advantage of his good fortune.
His AAU club, the Colorado Miners, announced via Twitter that he will officially visit both UCLA and USC the weekend of May 31 and follow that with an official to Gonzaga June 7.
Jerry Meyer of 247Sports told SNY.tv Perkins is “one of the best passers I’ve scouted in the past 10 years.”
Perkins told Rivals he would decide sometime around August.
