Marquise Moore to George Mason

Former Hofstra commit Marquise Moore is off the board.

“I committed to George Mason earlier today,” the 6-foot-2, 195-pound point guard told SNY.tv.

“I felt it was a good fit for me. They need a guard who can defend, penetrate, make plays and get into the lane. I know I can do that.”

The Queens native was going to visit Tulane later this week, and also considered Hofstra and Fairfield.

He averaged 13 points, six rebounds and five assists last season at St. Thomas More (Conn.).

Moore initially committed to former Hofstra coach Mo Cassara, but re-opened after the coach was fired in March.

“It was a tough situation,” Moore said. “But things worked out well for me. I’m happy where I’m at.”
