Rutgers’ Carter Done for the Season

By MATT SUGAM

Eli Carter’s season is over.

The Rutgers sophomore guard suffered a fractured right fibula against DePaul on Saturday, the school announced. He will be further evaluated by orthopedic personnel later this week.

Carter leads Rutgers in scoring with 14.9 points per game.

“We’re going to have to rally around and become stronger as a team,” head coach Mike Rice told reporters after the game. “People don’t even understand what he does defensively for us. Night in and night out, he’s on the best perimeter offensive player. We have a lot of big shoes to fill.”
