Whitehead Goes Off for 45, Lance Likes His Game

Brooklyn Lincoln junior guard Isaiah Whitehead went off for 45 points Sunday in a scrimmage against Cardozo.

“It was great,” Whitehead told SNY.tv “They were playing very aggressive defense and I just outplayed them and my jump shot has gotten way better.”

Said Cardozo coach Ron Naclerio: “You can see he has really worked to improve all facets of his game. He has superior confidence in his long 3 and has an NBA pullup. He will willingly give it up and get the assist.

“Two more years going against him has me going to the pharmacy for all of the headache remedies.”

The 6-foot-4 Whitehead recently cut his list to 10 schools, as he announced on ZAGSBLOG.com: Kentucky, Maryland, Arizona, Syracuse, St. John’s, UCLA, Florida, Kansas, Rutgers and Louisville.

Whitehead also has a big fan in Indiana Pacers shooting guard Lance Stephenson, who told SNY.tv Sunday after his team lost to the Knicks at MSG: “Oh, he’s great. He reminds me of me when I was in Lincoln. He’s a tough kid, got the jump shot down, and he’s very aggressive.

“He’s gonna be good, man.”
