Dozier out of Draft; Sallie Visits Memphis

DozierRobert Dozier, a 6-foot-9 junior forward from Memphis, has decided to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft before today’s 5 p.m. deadline, according to various sources. Dozier averaged 9.2 points and 6.8 rebounds last year when the Tigers won 38 games and reached the NCAA title game.

With Dozier’s return, Coach John Calipari will have two starters back, as well as an incoming class that features former American Christian star Tyreke Evans, the MVP of the McDonald’s All-American Game.

Memphis also got a visit this past weekend from 6-5 JUCO guard Robert Sallie, who played alongside Dozier and Antonio Anderson at Laurinburg (N.C.) Prep.

Sallie will visit Kentucky next week.

“I don’t want to prolong this,” Sallie told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. “I need to get into a school and get down there as soon as possible so I can get with a team, get familiar with a team. The summer is a big part of creating team bonds and players knowing their roles. It’s very important.”

Memphis is also in the mix fo 6-7 Arizona transfer Emmanuel Negedu.

**Jeff Goodman of FoxSports.com reports that Bill Walker of Kansas State, a former high school teammate of O.J. Mayo, will remain in the draft.
