Thank God for the New York Giants

As a native New Yorker, I can only say, “God Bless Eli Manning, David Tyree and Plaxico Burress.”

If not for them, Boston would be the world champs in Major League Baseball, the NFL and the NBA.

I’d never hear the end of it from my friends in Boston, who tormented me — a lifelong Yankees fan — throughout last year’s postseason. And now they can talk about the Celtics winning their 17th NBA title. At least the Yankees still have the most titles in any sport overall (26).

Paul Pierce will host the Nike Skills Academy for wing players in L.A. this year instead of Kobe Bryant. Think the Swoosh knew something the rest of us didn’t?
