Wiggins, Rathan-Mayes Drawing Big-Time Coaches

A slew of heavyweight Division 1 coaches will parade through Huntington (W.V.) Prep in the coming days during this contact period.

Florida State head coach Leonard Hamilton is expected to watch Andrew Wiggins and Xavier Rathan-Mayes on Monday, head coach Rob Fulford told SNY.tv.

Kentucky coach John Calipari is also expected this week at some point to see the 6-foot-7 Wiggins, who may reclassify to 2013 from 2014 in order to enter the 2014 NBA Draft.

“They’ll be in this week,” Fulford said. “I don’t know when.”

Calipari Tweeted that he would be in five states on Monday and a contest winner later guessed correctly that they were Texas, Michigan, California, Indiana and Minnesota.

As for the 6-4 Rathan-Mayes, Texas head coach Rick Barnes and an assistant were at Huntington Sunday.

Rathan-Mayes’s mother is also hosting home visits with coaches this week in Canada.

Rathan-Mayes recently cut his list to Baylor, Florida State, UConn, Illinois and Texas.

Tennessee head coach Cuonzo Martin and two Marshall assistants were also at Huntington Sunday, and a Texas A&M assistant will be there Monday.

The 6-9 big man Dominic Woodson has a final 10 of Kentucky,  N.C. State, Baylor, Texas A&M, Connecticut, Memphis, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Rhode Island and Oklahoma.

After initially planning games in both Lexington and Louisville in November, Huntington Prep will now play only in Lexington Nov. 18 against Christian Faith, Fulford said.
