Marcus Lee, one of the standout performers of the July live period, has trimmed his list to seven schools.
His brother, Brian, confirmed to SNY.tv that Marcus is considering Duke, Cal, UCLA, Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana and Kansas. Marcus first gave the list to Jerry Meyer of 247Sports.
“No visits [are] planned yet but we’ll get on it shortly,” Brian told SNY.tv.
The 6-foot-8 Lee out of Antioch (Calif.) Deer Valley said at the Nike Global Challenge that he was especially impressed with Duke and Coach K for staying in touch with him while coaching Team USA in the Olympics.
“Before this, I called him and talked to him and said, ‘So, will I see you during these games?’” Lee said after putting up 16 points on 8-for-9 shooting to go with 6 rebounds in USA West’s 98-69 rout of Puerto Rico.
“He was like, ‘No, because I’m still coaching the USA.’ And I just froze. I’m like, ‘He just got so much cooler.’”
Lee added: “The first time he called me I was terrified. I was like, ‘This is Coach K, don’t know what to do.’ And then I missed the call and I called him right back.”

”Best interior player here,” one NBA scout told SNY.tv at the event. “Great feel for the game. Needs to get stronger. I’d like to see him be a little more assertive from 15 feet, take that jump shot. He definitely changes everything around the rim. Great passer, great feel.”
