Cliff Alexander, a 6-foot-9, 250-pound 2014 power forward from Chicago Curie High, has received a scholarship offer from Kentucky.
“I got happy,” he told Cats Illustrated via Lex18.com.
Rivals ranks Alexander as the No. 4 power forward in the Class of 2014.
Alexander said he spoke to Kentucky coach John Calipari for 10 minutes earlier this month.
“Basically he was saying he wanted to coach me,” Alexander said.
“… I was smiling the whole time he was talking.”
Alexander also reportedly has offers from Michigan State, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, DePaul, Louisville, Kansas, Florida State, Tennessee, Connecticut, Wisconsin and Iowa.

not sure what class will be more epic, the 2013 or 2014 class.

BostonCat / July 17, 2012
first million dollar ticket scam, then major drug bust….but uk and cal is the “evil” program. comical.

RcKchalk12 / July 18, 2012

BlueCat32 / July 18, 2012

BostonCat / July 18, 2012
its not ku’s past…its their present. boosters handing out cash. academic fraud, million dollar ticket scam, drug bust, fights, sexual assaults, DUIs.

Hey Kungpao, I bet you and the rest of college basketball feels like you have been hit by a train, LOL!
The best any of you can muster is the tired “Cal cheats rant”!
If that’s all you got, then you have nothing. My advice to you is to just turn off the TV during basketball season because you are going to hate it!

Here’s what I got UK isn’t winning anything this year.
While I believe cal has broken rules in the past, I don’t think he has to any more, kids are lining up 2 go to UK now.
/
BostonCat / July 18, 2012
i don’t think uk will win a title this year, just because essentially no one repeats. but in terms of a starting 5….few if anyone has a better cast then uk heading into the season

BlueCat32 / July 18, 2012
Vegas Insider has Indiana @ 7-1 followed by Louisville and Kentucky @ 8-1 to win the Championship…
I’m not saying the Cats are going to win it but, they are getting some respect. It’s not like it can’t be done.

“While I believe cal has broken rules in the past, I don’t think he has to any more, kids are lining up 2 go to UK now.”
Holy &*%$!! BJ actually said something I agree with. And yes, UK was irrelevant for several years prior to Cal and will be when he’s done (Memphis/UMass). Nobody cares about your program, you’re just a bunch of dumb hicks that are acting the exact same way Memphis fans acted when he coached there. Everyone feels bad for Memphis now.
As for the KU issues, you forgot to mention Selby getting money which is the only issue relevant to this argument. He got cash directly from an agent that had nothing to do with KU or Self. WWW on the other hand… (http://louisvillesportslive.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/www.jpg) yeah, exactly.

Amazing ku and zona going off on this tread about a player THEY HAVE NO SHOT AT!. Nice work fellas.

BlueCat32 / July 19, 2012

Ha ha ha

UofA BJ / July 19, 2012
Arizona isn’t recruiting him, so they have no shot by choice.

I’m going off ganjah?

Kungpao must be like 15 years old. Kentuckys recent struggles were simply due to tubby smith for an entire decade and BCG. Kind of like Daughtery at UNC but worse.
I got news for you, when Kentucky basketball is managed correctly, it is a juggernaut like no other as you are seeing now. Kentucky has been the most consistent winning program in college basketball and will remain so as long as the right coach is in charge.
Stop with the cheating barbs because it makes you and others look so pu$$;:/vied!
I literally laugh at all of you squirming due to the fact Kentucky is back on top.
Your pain is delicious…..
/
KingCal8 / July 19, 2012
And Kungpao, I personally give a crap less who is supposedly cheating and who is not. I, like most sensible fans worry about what happens on the court!
If you are so worried about cheating, just stop watching the games or hope your Team finds a way to cope.
/
RcKchalk12 / July 20, 2012
hahahah the most consistent winning team is KU. they have the longest tournament appearances as of now while UK missed with Gillespie. UK is great but youre talking about CONSISTENCY. in 5-10 years well be talking about UK’s consistency again
/
KingCal8 / July 20, 2012
Not hardly Rckchalk. Kentucky is the winningest program of all time and has won big in every era.
Kansas has been extremely lucky because you have had Roy Williams and Bill Self and Kentucky lost an entire decade with tubby smith!
It’s all about who is in charge and that’s why Kentucky is on top again!
There is a HUGE difference between Cal being at Kentucky than say Memphis or umass.
/
KingCal8 / July 20, 2012
You better hope and pray that when Self leaves KU makes the right hire like Kentucky did with Cal and UNC did with Roy.
I hope you are not naive to think that KU is above hiring a tubby, right? It’s all about the coach, the name will only do so much for you.
