PENNINGTON, N.J. — Davon Reed, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Princeton (N.J.) Day School, is looking to cut his list sometime this summer.
At the Mary Kline Classic last weekend, Reed told SNY.tv that his current list includes Wake Forest, UConn, Seton Hall, Georgetown, Xavier, Miami and Harvard, plus “a lot of other schools.”
He added Tuesday that “Louisville started recruiting me.”
Within about a month or so, the Rivals No. 13 shooting guard in the Class of 2013 plans to trim his list so it’s in the “five to seven range.”
UConn, Miami, Xavier and Harvard have been paying particular attention to the athletic wing of late, and Reed is still considering the Huskies despite their recent issues.
“They’re going through the problems with the NCAA right now and the question is whether [head coach Jim] Calhoun is going to be there for a while but I still like them as a school,” Reed said. “Everybody goes through trouble and stuff.”
Reed hopes to study sports medicine in college.
“I’m looking for both, a balance educationally and basketball-wise,” he said.
