The least well kept secret in the college transfer world is out.
Former Wake Forest guard Tony Chennault will announce his transfer to Villanova today.
“Tony is happy to be back in the Philly area close to his mom and family,” Neumann Goretti assistant John Mosco told SNY.tv.
Chennault’s mother, Crystal Mortan, is ill and he is hoping to get a hardship waiver to play immediately.
As a sophomore, he averaged 9.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 30.2 minutes per game. He led Wake and ranked tied for eighth in the ACC in assists per game.
Villanova also landed Rice transfer Dylan Ennis, who must sit a year, and has incoming guard Ryan Arcidiacono joining rising sophomore point guard Ty Johnson.
Former Villanova guards Maalik Wayns and Dominic Cheek both declared early for the NBA Draft.
