Bennett, Jefferson & Pollard Still on the Board (UPDATED)

At this point, Mariano Rivera may be healed up from his ACL tear and back pitching for the Yankees before three of the top prospects in the Class of 2012 make their college decisions.

Anthony Bennett, Amile Jefferson and Devonta Pollard are still on the board and there’s just no telling when any of them will announce.

The end of the late signing period is May 16, but it’s possible one or more of these guys could wait until after then.

The 6-foot-7 Bennett is considering Florida, Kentucky, UNLV and Oregon, but has yet to take an official to any of those schools. He was on the UNLV campus Thursday with his mother, Findlay assistant Todd Simon confirmed to SNY.tv  He has also tripped unofficially to Oregon and Kentucky.

“It’s a big decision and he wants to make sure he makes the right one,” Findlay Prep head coach Michael Peck told MaxPreps.com.

The 6-7 Jefferson out of Philly Friends Central may or may not be waiting to see what Bennett does.

He’s considering Duke, N.C. State, Kentucky, Ohio State and Villanova.

Philly Friends Central coach Jason Polykoff told SNY.tv Friday morning that he has “no idea” when Jefferson will decide.

The 6-8 Pollard out of Mississippi was supposed to announce by today, but that plan appears to be out the window.

He’s considering Missouri, Texas, Alabama and Georgetown.

“The mother is going to send the thing out,” Porterville (Miss.) Kemper County coach Kelvin Young told SNY.tv Friday by phone. “She’s going to send everything out.

Asked when Pollard might announce, Young said, “I have no idea. It’s all going through the mother.”
