Tony Parker will wait until sometime after Wednesday to announce his college choice, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“What I’m getting from his family is that there’s a good chance it won’t be Wednesday,” Miller Grove High School coach Sharman White told the paper.
“I don’t think he’s just quite ready. He’s trying to figure out the last intricate parts of this decision … so he can make the best choice.”
This would mark at least the second time Parker pushed the decision back, since his father told SNY.tv that at one point his son was planning on announcing at the March 28 McDonald’s All-American Game.
The NCAA early signing period begins Wednesday and fellow 2012 late-signing heavyweights Shabazz Muhammad and Nerlens Noel are due to announce that night on ESPNU.
The 6-foot-9 Parker told Fox Sports during the Nike Hoop Summit SAturday night he was considering UCLA, Kansas, Duke, Ohio State and Georgia. Memphis and Georgetown have also been mentioned.
Parker leaves Wednesday for the Jordan Brand Classic in Charlotte and may still opt to take visits after that.
“I just think he’s trying to get to a clear place in his mind where he wants to go,” White told the AJC. “It’s a really tough position to be in, and I don’t envy him one bit. All things considered, he’s handling it very well and trying to figure out what’s best for him.”
