The Florida Gators got some good news Thursday when junior guard Kenny Boynton Tweeted that he will return to campus.
“To confirm the questions being ask lately I have reached a decision and I am returning to Gainesville for my senior season #go gators,” Boynton tweeted.
According to GatorZone,com, Boynton’s parents met Tuesday with Florida coach Billy Donovan to discuss his options. The result worked in Florida’s favor.
Boynton, a 6-foot-2, 189-pound guard from Pompano Beach, averaged 15.9 points and has scored 1,589 points in his career, the seventh-most in Florida’s 96-year history.
Florida is also expected to return sophomore big man Patric Young for his junior season.
Freshman guard Bradley Beal, a projected Top 5 pick in the NBA Draft, has yet to decide his future.
The NCAA deadline is April 10 and the NBA deadline is April 29.
The Gators return Erik Murphy, Mike Rosario, Casey Prather and Will Yeguete and will also add point guard Braxton Ogbueze for what should be another strong run in the SEC.
