Bloodman Visits Seton Hall, Remains Open

Junior college point guard Trivante Bloodman visited Seton Hall over the weekend and remains open in his recruitment.

“It went great,” the 6-foot, 180-pound Manhattan native told SNY.tv Wednesday by phone. “I went [to The Prudential Center]. It was nice, big arena and everything.”

Seton Hall is actively seeking a point guard with the graduation of Jordan Theodore and the ACL injury to Tom Maayan. The news of Bloodman’s visit to Seton Hall was first reported by SNY.tv and he said head coach Kevin Willard is offering the chance to play major minutes.

“Yeah, I would have a chance to be the starting point guard,” Bloodman said. “I would like to play in the Big East Conference but right now I’m trying to choose the school that would really fit me.

“I want to choose a school where I’m going to win.”

Bloodman, who will have three years of Division I eligibility out of Olney (Ill.) Central College, is also considering Cleveland State, Texas Tech and Milwaukee.

“And a few other schools I’m not sure of,” he said.

Bloodman will visit Cleveland State (April 14-16) and Texas Tech (22-24).

Bloodman averaged 15 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals this year at Olney and won a slew of postseason awards. He was named Freshman of the Year in the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and Region 24. He came in second for Region 24 Player of the Year. He was first-team All-Conference and All-Region.

Bloodman said he plans to take his visits and then decide.

“Once I take all my visits I’ll decide after that.”

Wherever he goes, he said, “I will be a point guard/scorer.”
