Lamar Odom to the D-League

Lamar Odom has been sent to the NBA Development League for at least one game.

The Mavericks said Friday that Odom had been assigned to the Texas Legends. He will be in uniform for the D-League team’s home game in Frisco on Saturday night.

Dallas is playing nine games in 12 games, including at New Orleans on Friday night and at home Saturday against Utah.

Odom is averaging 7.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in 32 games his first season with Dallas.

The New York Post recently reported that Odom wanted out of Dallas.

“Don’t be surprised if the Mavs oblige. He’s just not happy in Dallas,” a Texas source told the paper. “Maybe his wife is making him.”

Odom, 32, is owed $8.9 million this year (pro-rated for a 66-game schedule). A buyout for next season would cost the Mavericks $2 million.
