D’Antoni Anxious for Jorts to Return

As if Mike D’Antoni doesn’t have enough options off his bench at the moment, he’s now looking forward to the return of Josh Harrellson to practice sometime next week.

“He hits 3’s and can spread the floor, things we need,” D’Antoni told reporters Thursday before the Knicks lost at Miami, 102-88.

“I would love to be able to find a place.”

The 6-foot-10 Harrellson fractured his right wrist Jan. 21 against the Nuggets and had beenĀ averaging 5.5 points and 4.2 rebounds on the season.

When he returns, D’Antoni will be have up to 11 players he can use in the rotation.

Along with starters Jeremy Lin, Landry Fields, Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire and Tyson Chandler, D’Antoni can use Harrellson, Jared Jeffries, Steve Novak, Iman Shumpert, J.R. Smith and Baron Davis off the bench.
