Ricardo Gathers is saying he has four favorites as of right now.
From Jeff Borzello’s Twitter: “Ricardo Gathers said Baylor, St. John’s, Florida and NC State are his favorites right now.”
Also: “Gathers said neither Duke nor Kentucky have shown consistent interest. Calipari went to one game, Duke contacted him once.”
Interestingly, hometown LSU is not among his favorites.
St. John’s coach Steve Lavin is on hand at the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass., watching the 6-foot-8 Gathers, who decommitted from St. John’s.
“I like their style of play and the competition over there,” Gathers told MassLive.com of St. John’s. “It’s huge with them being in the Big East and everything.”
“I think a lot of people are recruiting him or trying to recruit him,” Reserve (La.) Riverside coach Timmy Byrd recently told SNY.tv. “He’s played pretty well this year. His game has expanded and improved.
“Naturally, I think everybody in the country would want him.”
